I understand that it would not be easy for them, but Hypixel had already made the game mode build battles in 1.14 to introduce more blocks for more variety, so why can't they do it to skyblock? The trident would be another great example, imagine what weapons there could be use with tridents and not just swords.

Shulker boxes may just be used as backpacks but the devs may want to remove that crafting or it will only work in your own island (like you can build in areas beside you island in the first place). This would be a great mob to introduce for a new area in the end. Lets take the shulker for example, its a 1.9 mob that is unique because it makes a player levitate. Hypixel SHOULD be in the newest update because each update there is always new blocks and mobs and knowing how skyblock works the admins and take advantage of this. Since the hypixel server supports 1.8 versions, people on 1.14 cannot craft or do things in normal vanilla minecraft. Most players who play in hypixel (including me) play on 1.8.9. Hypixel skyblock is a game in the server which is in versions 1.8-the newest. I think hypixel skyblock should be in 1.14.4 or the newest update.
